Welcome to the website of the Institute of Economic Policy at the Leibniz University Hannover.

Research, teaching and transfer at the Institute of Economic Policy focus on the quantitative analysis of current issues of economic policy. The basis for this is the combination of theoretical approaches with modern econometric methods using the best possible data. In addition to fundamental insights (basic research), practical implications of these insights for the private sector, politics and the public are of particular importance (applied research).

Prof. Waibel gave an invited speech

On 14 September 2020, Prof. Waibel gave an invited speech at the "International Online Conference on Sustainable Management and Innovation" at the IPB University in Bogor, Indonesia. The title of his talk was: "Resilience and prospects of the agri-food sector during and after the Global Pandemic."

The panel session was moderated by Dr. Eko Ruddy Cahyadi, Alumni of Leibniz University Hannover. Prof. Waibel gave the first talk in panel session 1, followed by Prof. Andreas Raharjo – National University of Singapore, Business School, who talked about: "Reinventing human resources role and business in the new normal." The third speaker was Prof. Musa Hubeis from IPB University in Indonesia, whose talk was titled: "Sustainable development drives small and medium enterprise innovation in the disruptive era."

The conference was attended by over 200 Indonesian and international participants. The presentations were followed by a lively discussion in spite of the limitations of an online conference setting. Further information about the conference can be found under: https://icosmi.ipb.ac.id/
